Scale and Facilities

The Yulin Convention and Exhibition Center covers an area of 81.5 hectares with a total construction area of 287000 square meters, of which the construction area of the Convention and Exhibition Center is 158000 square meters. This comprehensive public building integrates domestic and international conferences, exhibitions, banquets, and business functions, including six exhibition halls, equipped with an international conference center, a large banquet hall, and supporting functions. Its planned construction area is 164300 square meters, including exhibition center, conference center, banquet hall, circular shared hall, etc., providing solid hardware support for hosting large-scale exhibitions and conferences at home and abroad.

Design and Construction

Yulin Convention and Exhibition Center was constructed by the 9th Construction Group of Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group, and designed under the guidance of Wei Dunshan, academician of the CAE Member. The architecture is designed with the theme of "one axis and four gardens", with the main sports stadium as the center and four groups of green spaces surrounding the stadium like stars holding the moon. The north side is the sports hall and swimming pool, and the central axis ends with the north square of the exhibition center on the south side, forming a complete spatial form and landscape system. The conference center and exhibition center roof of the exhibition center project adopt a pipe truss spatial structure form, which has complex structural stress, high processing accuracy requirements, complex lifting conditions, and difficult lifting control. During the construction period, the project team overcame many difficulties such as the epidemic, floods, non-stop construction, and narrow site, overcame multiple technical challenges, completed 4 construction methods, 3 patents, 1 BIM technology application achievement, 2 QC achievements, and published 3 papers, accumulating rich experience for large-span steel structure construction.

History and Development

The Yulin Convention and Exhibition Center officially started construction on March 1, 2019, and after more than 800 days of effective construction period, it was finally successfully completed. Since its first use, it has become a new landmark and a new window for external communication in Yulin City. As the permanent venue of Yulin International Coal and High end Energy Chemical Industry Expo, the Convention and Exhibition Center provides solid hardware support for Yulin to host higher-level and larger scale conferences and exhibitions.
