Introduction

Suzhou Museum is a comprehensive local museum in Suzhou. It is located in the palace of Li Xiucheng, the loyal king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. It is the most complete palace building of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The whole building is magnificent and tortuous. The former site of zhongwangfu of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom is a national key cultural relic protection unit. Up to now, there are more than 400 beautiful and elegant Soviet style beam Fang color paintings, nine fresh and meaningful color painting murals, as well as thick and simple dragon and phoenix pattern windows, vivid stone lions and other art treasures of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.

Among a batch of production tools and living utensils unearthed from three Neolithic sites, Wujiang seawall, Wuxian caoshishan and Suzhou Yuecheng, there are rice conglomerates 6000 years ago, stone plows 5000 years ago, painted black pottery zuns, bone daggers, bone needles, bone nourishment, etc., which are physical materials of pre Wu culture that have not been recorded in the literature; there are Yiding and Qu, uncle Hao of the Western Zhou Dynasty There are many exquisite craftwork, such as the big Tang with the pattern of stealing, the hundred milk Gu with the pattern of stealing in the Shang Dynasty, the Shi Jue, the Fu Yijue and the Zuxin Gu with the pattern of stealing in the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, and the Jianzhong of the Wu people. There are many artifacts from the texture to the shape, both with the local characteristics and the traces of the influence of the Central Plains culture. The collection of the five generations of Yue celadon lotus bowls from the Huqiu tower is exquisite and unique in shape, crystal and moist in glaze color; from the Ruiguang tower The "real pearl relic building" made in the sixth year (101) of Zhongda Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty is still gorgeous and magnificent, reflecting the carving, inlaying and paintwork at that time. At the same time, it is also a valuable cultural relic, such as the picture of the king of heaven on the four walls of the wooden letter in the treasure house and the book of Chinese classics on the wonderful method of woodcut. Calligraphy and painting is a great collection of cultural relics, among which the group fan of "Qiantang tide view" in Xiakou of Song Dynasty. There is no fan named "the picture of enjoying the moon under the pines". Banners of the painting of five kings playing in spring and the painting of bamboo and stone by Wang Meng of Yuan Dynasty are rare treasures in China.

There are more than 70 top-ranking calligraphy fans in Suzhou in Qing Dynasty, accounting for more than half of the number of top-ranking scholars in Qing Dynasty. The collection of revolutionary cultural relics includes the cultural relics of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, including the cultural relics of the founding of Sufu province by Li Xiucheng, the loyal king of that year, such as military official letters, manuscripts, rosters, collected timber, reduced grain and silver, a thousand kilograms of copper cannons, military equipment, etc.; in the cultural relics of the old democratic period and the new democratic period, Sun Yat Sen, Huang Xing, Zou Rong and Zhang Taiyan were used as the hand marks to guerrilla in the Anti Japanese war The cultural relics of the team and the underground Party of the Communist Party of China in Suzhou are more precious.  

The museum has "Suzhou unearthed cultural relics display", "Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Sufu province historical relics display". "Suzhou unearthed cultural relics exhibition" displays more than 400 unearthed cultural relics from the Neolithic Age to the Ming Dynasty, reflecting the general history of Suzhou's development. "The exhibition of historical relics in Sufu province of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom" reflects the struggle history of Li Xiucheng, the loyal king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, who established Sufu province after the eastern expedition to Suzhou on June 2, 1860, attacking Shanghai three times, attacking foreign invaders and feudal rule of the Qing Dynasty, until he was defeated. The museum also often holds various temporary special exhibitions in turn, such as "Ming and Qing painting exhibition". "Top scholar fan Exhibition", "silk embroidery exhibition in Qing Dynasty", "ancient craft Exhibition", "collection porcelain exhibition", "cultural relics and historical materials exhibition in New Democratic Period in Suzhou", "cultural relics and historical materials exhibition in Xinhai Revolution", "Suzhou Kunqu history exhibition", etc.

The museum started preparation in August 1958 and was officially opened to the public in January 1960. It covers an area of 7000 square meters and has a building area of more than 4800 square meters. The museum has a collection of about 30000 cultural relics, and is good at unearthed cultural relics, ancient calligraphy and painting, and ancient crafts. The collection includes Yan GUI and Yu Cong of the Shang Dynasty, Lu Zigang's jade carving of the Ming Dynasty, Pei's porcelain pillow of the Tang Dynasty, Tianlan small bowl of the Song Jun kiln, double earring bottle of the Longquan kiln, Yingqing printed double phoenix folding branch garden box, red holding cup in the glaze of the Yuan Dynasty, blue and white chicken heart bottom bowl of the Yongle white ground of the Ming Dynasty, four plates with sweet and white engraved grape flower and fruit pattern, Xuande big bowl with branches and peonies, blue and white dragon plate of the sea water, and Song Dynasty's Kesi and embroidery, Luoxiangyuan embroidery in Ming Dynasty, the twelve Chinese Zodiac bottles and Jigong statues of Shen Shouxiu, a famous Suzhou embroidery artist in modern times, and the "thousand year old Zhimo" engraved with the "Yihai of Kangxi" style in the hand of Mogao in Qing Dynasty are all extremely valuable arts and crafts relics.
