Introduction

Located in Los Angeles, New Orleans Morrill Convention and Exhibition Center has a 10000 square meter exhibition hall. It is the sixth largest international convention and Exhibition Center in the United States and has been ranked in the top 10 in the United States.

The lower end of the Morrill Convention and Exhibition Center in New Orleans is on Canal Street, 1640 feet (500 meters) above the Mississippi River. It was named after Ernest n. Morial, a former mayor of New Orleans. By 2006, the Morrill Convention and Exhibition Center in New Orleans had 1.1 million square feet (102000 square meters) of exhibition space, divided into 11 pieces, with a total area of more than 3 million square feet (280000 square meters). The front of the main building is one kilometer long. The design plan for the Morrill Convention and Exhibition Center in New Orleans began in 1978. It is the fifth largest exhibition facility in the United States and was renovated and expanded in early 2005. The first part of the building was built in 1984, followed by the Louisiana World Expo, during which the center expanded further upstream. In 1992 honorary mayor Ernest n. Morial, the city's first African mayor, named the building. In 2008, the center was renamed the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in order to highlight its New Orleans location.
