Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museum is a provincial (autonomous region) level comprehensive museum of local chronicles, located in the east of Nanning National square. The exhibition building of the main building is a large-scale rectangular building with the characteristics of the column building of Zhuang nationality. It integrates exhibition and business office. The first to third floors are used for exhibition and the fourth floor for office. Behind the exhibition building is a 24000 square meter National Heritage Park with strong local characteristics. The total area of the museum is 32757.8 square meters. The predecessor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museum is Guangxi Provincial Museum founded in Nanning in 1934. At that time, it had begun to take shape, with a fixed library, a collection of more than 20000 cultural relics, a large number of stone rubbings, various old and new books and materials, and various exhibitions. After the outbreak of the Anti Japanese War, the Provincial Museum of Guangxi has been relocated several times, which is in the midst of ups and downs and difficulties. The loss of cultural relics is serious, and the name of the museum has been changed many times. Until the founding of the people's Republic of China, Guangxi's cultural and Bo undertakings were revived. After many years of preparation, on May 1, 1956, the Guangxi Museum building was completed and the reconstruction work was announced to be completed. In March 1958, with the establishment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Provincial Museum was changed to its current name. At present, there are more than 50000 cultural relics in the Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, including 152 first-class cultural relics and 1791 second-class cultural relics. Guangxi is one of the main distribution areas of ancient bronze drums. The remains of bronze drums are rich and various. Therefore, the museum has become the museum with the largest collection of bronze drums in the world, with more than 360 collections. Among them, a Beiliu type drum with a diameter of 165 cm and a weight of 299 kg is known as the "king of drums". In addition, there are also the hand axe 800000 years ago, the mysterious stone shovel of the Neolithic age, the bronze vibrator with animal face pattern of the Shang Dynasty, the wooden slips with more than 370 characters written in the Han Dynasty, the lacquer painted copper basin and the lacquer painted copper cylinder with mythological stories, the big copper horse with a height of 115.5cm, the copper ox with both shape and spirit, the copper Phoenix lamp with smoke and dust elimination, the distinctive bronze bell with a horn button, the Yue type copper tripod, and the dry column type copper warehouse There are a large number of unearthed cultural relics; the collection of national cultural relics is more colorful and colorful; revolutionary cultural relics, ancient calligraphy and paintings and various handed down cultural relics are also rare. There are also a large number of books and materials in the museum, among which more than 30000 are thread bound ancient books, which are precious. Since the completion of the new exhibition building, the museum has successively held such basic exhibitions as Guangxi Historical and cultural relics exhibition, Guangxi revolutionary cultural relics exhibition, Guangxi national folk custom exhibition, Taiping Heavenly Kingdom revolution in Guangxi history exhibition, ancient bronze drum exhibition, Brunei Sultan dragon chariot exhibition, etc. In addition, temporary special exhibitions are often held. As the extension and expansion of folk custom exhibition to the outside, the national cultural relics park is built with bronze drums and group sculptures, folk houses and representative buildings of Zhuang, Yao, Miao, Dong and other ethnic groups, as well as the original display of production and daily necessities and ethnic snacks. Traditional crafts and folk art performances are also organized on holidays. In addition to holding exhibitions in our museum, we have also held special exhibitions in foreign and domestic cities for many times, or introduced foreign exhibitions to our museum to promote cultural exchange. The museum has made great achievements in scientific research. The published academic monographs include: the history of Tonggu, the research on the art of Tonggu, the atlas of Guangxi Tonggu, the general theory of ancient Tonggu, the unearthed cultural relics in Guangxi (the atlas), the Han tomb in Luopo Bay, Guixian County, Guangxi, Zuojiang rock painting, Baise Paleolithic, Guangxi bronze mirror, the essence of ancient ceramics in Guangxi Museum, etc. In addition, the published academic papers and archaeological investigation reports are also very rich, covering archaeology, history, ethnology, folklore and so on. The Secretariat of China ancient bronze drum Research Association is located in the museum, so the museum has made a positive contribution in the research of bronze drum. It has organized many international academic conferences on ancient bronze drum and bronze culture in South China and Southeast Asia, promoted international exchange and cooperation in this academic field, and has a certain influence in the world. Under the new situation of rapid development of economic globalization and cultural pluralism, the museum is meeting new opportunities and challenges with a new attitude.
