Diaoyutai State Guesthouse is located in the ancient Diaoyutai scenic spot in the western suburb of Beijing. The ancient Diaoyutai used to be a traveling palace for emperors. It is one of the famous gardens in Beijing. It has a history of more than 800 years. In the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234 A.D.), Emperor Zhangzong built a fishing platform here, so it was later called "the emperor's fishing platform". In the early years of the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368 A.D.), Lian Xixian, the prime minister, built his villa "wanliutang" here, which became a popular tourist attraction. After Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, it was a villa for dignitaries and nobles. Many literati went to a banquet and wrote poems here. Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty loved the beautiful scenery and set it as a walking palace. He built yangyuanzhai, Qinglu hall, xiaobixuan, Chengyi Pavilion and Wanghai tower, and wrote poems and erected plaques. In 1958, in order to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China in Chongqing and to receive the heads of state and government of some countries invited to China to participate in the national day, the state decided to choose the ancient Diaoyutai scenic spot as the site, and entrusted the Ministry of foreign affairs to organize, plan and build the State Guesthouse, which was named Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. After more than a year's efforts, 17 reception buildings have been built. In order to respect the habits of foreign countries, the number of the buildings is arranged as follows: No. 1 and No. 13. The total area of the park is 420000 square meters, and the total building area of the museum is 165000 square meters, including 50000 square meters of lake water. On the eve of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the May 9th National Day, the first batch of state guests are welcomed here. Since then, the state guesthouse has become an important place for party and state leaders to engage in foreign affairs.
