Petroleum and chemical industry is an important pillar industry of Xinjiang's economic development, and also one of the industries with the most resource advantages and development potential in Xinjiang. After decades of development, Xinjiang's petroleum and chemical industry has made great achievements, forming different production bases of petrochemical industry, coal chemical industry, salt chemical industry, chlor alkali and fine chemical industry, such as Karamay, Zhundong, Kuitun Dushanzi, Shihezi, Urumqi, Turpan Hami, Kuqa Baicheng and Korla. However, Xinjiang's chemical industry still faces such contradictions and problems as too large proportion of upstream development, small proportion of downstream deep processing, relatively weak ability of scientific and technological innovation and R & D, and relatively backward industrial supporting conditions, which restrict Xinjiang's petrochemical industry to further strengthen and expand.
In order to promote the sustainable and healthy development of Xinjiang Petroleum and chemical industry, the third Xinjiang International Petroleum and chemical technology equipment exhibition is scheduled to be held in Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center (Urumqi) from September 17 to 19, 2018.
