As the largest, oldest and most international art trade fair in China and Asia, the 2018 (22nd) Shanghai Art Expo will continue to maintain its scale and momentum. It is scheduled to be staged in the Shanghai World Expo exhibition hall (No. 1099, Pudong International Exhibition Road) from November 8 to 11, 2018, once again presenting a magnificent art feast for collectors at home and abroad.

Shanghai Art Expo, founded in 1997, is held once a year for 4 days. The exhibition area of each grand event is more than 20000 square meters; galleries or art brokers from more than 20 countries have participated in the exhibition; thousands of works of art, such as traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture, print, photography and installation, have participated in the exhibition and transaction; the number of visitors is about 60000, and the turnover in 2017 has exceeded 150 million yuan.  

Shanghai Art Expo has been successfully held for 21 times, and has grown into one of the largest and most international art expositions in Asia. It has not only formed a planning and organizing team with professional quality, but also successfully built the exhibition into an international art event integrating internationalization, marketization and boutique. It has also built a very affinity bridge between the world and Shanghai, the public and art, which is a model for the domestic art fair.  

In the past 21 years, many original works of world-famous masters have made their debut in China and even Asia through the huge platform of Shanghai Art Fair, such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, Rembrandt, Chagall, Dali, Renoir, Monet, Mata, Oman, Zhu Dequn, Zhao Wuji, Qi Baishi, Xu Beihong, Zhang Daqian, Fu Baoshi, etc.; meanwhile, Shanghai Art The art fair also created a proud history of transactions:

Shanghai Art Expo 2000: the famous Rodin sculpture "thinker" brought by French Gallery sayeger was purchased and collected by Pudong Lianyang Land Development Co., Ltd. at a price of US $1 million. This well-known masterpiece in China has permanently settled in Shanghai, and has become the largest overseas work transaction in China Art Expo

2002 Shanghai Art Expo: the sculpture "Caesar's thumb" was purchased and stored by Shanghai Zendai Group with a value of 2.6 million yuan
In the 2003 Shanghai Art Expo, Zhang Daqian's "the picture of returning to the mountain" was sold for 5.5 million yuan
In the 2007 Shanghai Art Expo, Su Tai's Angel series was collected at a high price by Jing'an Sculpture Park, adding a good story to the Chinese art market

Especially in 1999, the Shanghai International Art Festival, sponsored by the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China and organized by the Shanghai Municipal People's government, officially opened in Shanghai.
