During the 14th Five Year Plan period, the output value of the electronic information manufacturing industry and the income of the software information technology service industry in the province steadily moved towards the expected goals, and the level of advanced industrial foundation and modernization of the industrial chain continued to improve. Relying on a number of high-energy innovation platforms such as the Aerospace Power Research Institute, the Optoelectronic Leading Technology Research Institute, the Semiconductor Leading Technology Center, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center, and the Western Science and Technology Innovation Port, Shaanxi has achieved a series of key technological breakthroughs and industrialization achievements in cutting-edge fields such as advanced semiconductors, photonics industry, aerospace electronics, etc.
Entering a new stage of the 15th Five Year Plan, the global semiconductor industry is undergoing profound changes, with technological innovation and supply chain security becoming core issues. Shaanxi seizes the historical opportunity, focuses on developing new quality productive forces, and uses cutting-edge technology to promote the transformation of industries towards high-end, intelligent, and green development. Third generation semiconductors (SiC/GaN), advanced packaging, chiplets, high-performance computing, artificial intelligence chips, automotive electronics, satellite applications, etc. have become new growth poles in the industry. At the same time, with the deepening implementation of the "14th Five Year Plan for the Development of Digital Economy in Shaanxi Province", the province's digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly perfect, with 5G base stations, gigabit optical networks, data center computing power and other scales ranking among the top in the country, providing rich application scenarios and innovative soil for the semiconductor and electronic information industry.

In this context, the 4th China Western Semiconductor and Integrated Circuit Industry Expo and China (Xi'an) Electronic Information Expo in 2026 will continue to focus on the theme of "Chip Driving the West, Intelligence Enjoying the Future", guided by the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and hosted by the China Communications Industry Association, with strong support from industry associations in multiple provinces and cities in China.
