1、 Conference Overview

The Asian Conference on prosthetics and orthotics (APOSM) is an academic conference held every two years by the Asian member countries of the International Society of prosthetics and orthotics (ISPO). The 9th conference will be held in 2026, which is also the first international event hosted by ISPO China.

The conference will be held from November 14th to 16th, 2026 at the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition CenterInnovation and Industrial Development of Artificial Limbs and Orthotics Technology in the Intelligent EraFor the theme. At that time, 17 member countries and regions including China, North Korea, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan will participate.

This conference will provide an international platform for experts, scholars, researchers, and industry practitioners in the field of prosthetics and orthotics in Asia to exchange the latest research results, explore technological progress, share clinical experience, and seek cooperation opportunities. By introducing advanced technology and management models, promoting the deep integration and coordinated development of industry, academia, and research, further accelerating the upgrading of the rehabilitation assistive device industry, and better promoting the innovative development of prosthetic and orthotic industries in Asian countries.

1. Target audience
The focus is on highlighting the characteristics of folk, professional, innovative, and extensive nature of the competition activities, and it is open to Asian university teachers and students, domestic and foreign design companies, public institutions, state-owned and private enterprise designers, as well as Asian free design enthusiasts.

2. Solicitation direction
Solicit service or product designs related to rehabilitation aids. The competition advocates green environmental protection, energy-saving and low-carbon sustainable design, advocates the use of "Internet plus" thinking to provide intelligent support for scientific and technological innovation, encourages new concepts, new technologies, new materials, new formats and new business models to serve the field of rehabilitation aids, and supports the innovative development of related product and service design. The main categories for soliciting works are as follows:

• Rehabilitation aidsTwelve categories of rehabilitation aids, including wheelchairs, hearing aids, vision aids, foot aids, rehabilitation equipment, prosthetics, and orthotics.

• Life puzzle classIncluding daily necessities, communication equipment, travel tools, entertainment and leisure products, as well as puzzle games (non online), suitable for designing spiritual care, psychological counseling, and enhancing cognitive abilities, suitable for emotional care and psychological communication.

• Facility environment categoryIncluding home environment renovation, energy-saving and livable renovation, barrier free design and renovation of public environment and facilities, etc.

• Comprehensive service category: Street community supporting facilities and one-stop convenient equipment, various institutions, urban and rural communities to provide relevant service products, as well as "Internet plus", intelligent rehabilitation aids service solutions, etc.

3. Solicitation criteria

• Conceptual Design TeamMainly select conceptual design works or service solutions from relevant research institutions, universities, design institutions, freelance designers, and innovation and invention enthusiasts.

• Product Innovation GroupMainly select design products or comprehensive service systems that have completed functional development and are manufactured and produced by relevant enterprises, research institutions, design agencies, freelance designers, etc.

4. Submission and registration requirements for works

• Work RequirementsAll entries must comply with the theme and collection direction of this competition. Participants must ensure that their works are original, have complete intellectual property rights, and there is no intellectual property infringement or any other infringement behavior. The Product Innovation Group is limited to registering service or product designs that have been sold or put into use for less than 5 years (after January 1, 2020).

• Group differentiationAll services or product designs that have not been sold or put into use shall be submitted to the "Conceptual Design Group" for competition; Submit the services or product designs (including patented products and services) that have been sold or put into use to the "Product Innovation Group" for competition.

• Requirements for conceptual design team submissionThe layout size of the work is A1 (840mm × 594mm), vertical composition, JPG format, with an accuracy of 350dpi; The size of a single image should not exceed 5M; each entry should have no more than 3 pages, including theme explanations, renderings, necessary structural diagrams, basic appearance size diagrams, and design descriptions (must be in both Chinese and English).

• Product Innovation Team Submission RequirementsSubmit 3 high-precision (350dpi or above) photos of the actual product, with each image not exceeding 5M in size; fill in the product/service design description (within 300 words), and submit corresponding auxiliary materials (such as scanned instruction manuals, product/service webpage links, etc.).

• Anonymous requestTo ensure the fairness of the selection process in this competition, personal information such as the author's affiliation, name (including English or Pinyin abbreviations), or any icons, graphics, etc. related to the author's identity shall not appear on the entries and pages.
