In order to enhance the international competitiveness of the service industry and service trade, and fully leverage their role in accelerating the transformation of the economic development mode, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council approved the co hosting of the China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) by the Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing Municipal People's Government in 2012. In 2019, it was renamed as China International Fair for Trade in Services, and in 2020, it was renamed from "Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services" to "China International Fair for Trade in Services". As China enters a new era, the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) has also entered a new stage of upgrading and development since 2020.

The Service Trade Fair is an international and comprehensive large-scale exhibition and trading platform specifically designed for service trade.

The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) adheres to the principle of "global service, mutual benefit and sharing", and aims to build a platform for global service trade exhibitions, exchanges, negotiations, and cooperation, with the goal of becoming the most influential service trade exhibition in the world.
