INTRODUCTION
The period of the 15th Five Year Plan is a crucial stage for the high-quality development of Chinese cities. The development and utilization of urban underground space is shifting from scale expansion to improving the quality and efficiency of existing resources, and upgrading with incremental intelligence. Cracking the bottleneck of spatial development, enhancing the safety and resilience of infrastructure, and revitalizing resource value have become the core tasks of the industry. At present, artificial intelligence, digital twins, and HarmonyOS systems are deeply integrated to build a new generation of urban underground space intelligent system that connects everything. This system reconstructs the development paradigm of civil engineering with data and models, promotes the mutual feedback and co intelligence of human and intelligent technologies, the integration and co creation of technology and engineering, and collaborates with technologies such as robotics, automation, and intelligent perception to reshape the entire chain of underground space planning, design, construction, and operation from the bottom, becoming the core engine driving the high-quality development of the underground space industry, implementing urban digital transformation, and new infrastructure construction.
The International Underground Space Development Conference (IFUS) is one of the "World Cities Day" series of events, which has been held for twelve consecutive sessions. Its aim is to gather global wisdom and create a high-end platform for exchanging cutting-edge information and technology. To seize the opportunity of empowering the development of underground space with the new generation of intelligent systems, the organizing committee will hold the 13th International Underground Space Development Conference (IFUS 2026) in Shanghai from July 3-5, 2026.
This conference will invite leaders from government regulatory departments, authoritative academicians, experts and scholars in the field of underground space at home and abroad, and representatives of leading enterprises in the industry to gather together and conduct high-level academic discussions and technical exchanges on the deep integration practice of the new generation of intelligent systems and underground space development under the concept of mutual feedback and intelligence. The conference will focus on technological breakthroughs, scenario implementation, and ecological construction of intelligent systems in the field of underground space, deepen collaborative innovation among industry, academia, research, and application, systematically build a new paradigm for the development of modern urban underground space industry, and inject new intelligent momentum into the high-quality development of urban space.
