Exhibition Introduction:

The Colombia International Solar Energy Exhibition, held annually, is the largest and most professional photovoltaic exhibition in Central America and the Caribbean, providing an international stage for major enterprises to open up the Colombian market. This international event will become the center of solar and other renewable energy businesses in Latin America and the Caribbean, fully utilizing the country's geopolitical location as a corner of the Americas, facilitating travel to South and Central America. Expo Solar Colombia is not just a trade exhibition, it has become a key institution driving the development of renewable energy value chains, sustainable transportation, energy efficiency, LED lighting, and green hydrogen energy. The 9th exhibition in 2025 will be held in Bogota for the first time, with nearly 420 exhibitors from 38 countries participating and attracting nearly 20000 professional visitors. Nearly 50 domestic brands, including DeYe, Jinlang, JA Solar, Jinko Solar, Grewatt, Times Energy, GCL, Aixin, Yuneng, Philis, Taize, Tianhe, Paizhi, Aishiwei, etc., have participated in the exhibition for 25 years.

According to a report by the industry association SolarPower Europe (SPE), this measure by the Colombian government will help promote the development of solar photovoltaic power generation in the country. The report states that Colombia's newly installed capacity will reach 1.6 gigawatts in 2024. SPE mentioned in the report that Colombia is entering a new stage of energy diversification, vigorously developing solar energy to enhance energy security. Colombia's interest in solar photovoltaic power generation continues to grow. Last month, independent power producer (IPP) Atlas Renewable Energy put into operation a 201 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in the country. Ecopetrol, a Colombian oil and energy company, has put into operation a 26 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in the province of Antioquia in northwestern Colombia. The power station is named "Granja Solar La Iguana" and its commissioning is part of the company's goal to achieve a renewable energy installed capacity of 900 megawatts by 2025. The electricity generated by the power station will be used for the company's own refinery and two natural gas fields. Just a few days ago, the company acquired seven solar photovoltaic power plants with a total installed capacity of 88 megawatts from Spanish independent electricity producer Grenergy. These solar photovoltaic projects will be delivered independently in stages and will be completed gradually throughout 2026.
