Morocco has jumped to become the eighth largest supplier of textiles and clothing in Europe, with fast fashion clothing accounting for 52% of industry production. According to Moroccan government data, there are currently 1600 registered companies in the textile industry, with a turnover of 60 billion dirhams (approximately 5.6 billion US dollars) last year, of which exports amounted to 44 billion dirhams (approximately 4.25 billion US dollars). These registered textile enterprises are required to undergo regular government inspections and buyer audits to ensure compliance with working conditions and production standards.

Thanks to its geographical advantages, Morocco is adjacent to European countries such as Portugal, Spain, and France, with low logistics costs and short shipping times (exporting to most European countries takes 6-11 days by sea). Therefore, many European clothing brands have set up factories in Morocco, making it the backyard of the European clothing industry.

So far, the Moroccan government has supported 102 investment projects in the textile sector, with a total value of 3.07 billion dirhams. The government aims to revitalize the industry by launching these textile projects, creating over 15555 stable job opportunities and achieving a third consecutive year of revenue exceeding 6.96 billion dirhams. The goal of Moroccan textile operators is to regain 40% of the national market share, achieve an export turnover of 60 billion dirhams, and reach 60% of production in procurement and finished products.
