As the "linker" and "enabler" of the transportation industry of the ancient Silk Road, Xinjiang carries a key mission in the national "the Belt and Road" initiative. In September 2025, General Secretary Xi Jinping further pointed out during the Xinjiang work report that focusing on the overall needs of Chinese style modernization provides a fundamental guideline for Xinjiang to coordinate development and security, balance characteristics and innovation, and connect domestic and international at a new starting point, becoming an action plan to promote sustained progress in the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains.

The 9th Xinjiang International Intelligent Transportation Industry Expo and the 9th Xinjiang International Transportation Facilities and Engineering Expo, planned to be guided by the Science and Technology Department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, hosted by the China Transportation Association, co organized by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Survey and Design Association, Xinjiang Concrete Engineering Technology Society, and supported by associations such as the Urumqi Transportation Bureau, Urumqi Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Detachment, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Highway Development Center, and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Public Security Bureau Traffic Police Corps, will grandly open at the Xinjiang International Convention and Exhibition Center from May 20-22, 2026. The theme of this exhibition is "New Opportunities in Asia and Europe, New Future of Transportation", providing a super platform for global transportation enterprises to connect business opportunities and discuss development.

The Xinjiang Transportation Exhibition has been successfully held for eight sessions, and with its professional positioning and strong resource integration capabilities, it has become the largest transportation industry event in Northwest China, with the most participating companies and the widest radiation in Central Asia.
