Kuzbass is a coal production base in Russia, abbreviated as the Novokuznetsk Coalfield. It is located between the Kuznetsk Mountains and the Saler Range in the Kemerovo Oblast of Western Siberia. Kuzbass' coal reserves account for 60% of Russia's total reserves, ranking first in the country with an area of 26700 square kilometers.
