Approved by the State Council, the High Tech Fair has been successfully held for 26 sessions since 1999. The High tech Fair is an important component of China's innovation system, and has become an important window for China's high-tech field to open up to the outside world and an important platform for the exchange and trading of high-tech achievements. It is known as the "first exhibition of Chinese science and technology".

The 26th High Tech Fair was successfully held at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center from November 14th to 16th, 2024. The exhibition covers an area of 300000 square meters and attracts nearly 5000 well-known enterprises and international organizations from more than 100 countries and regions around the world. It has attracted more than 400000 professional visitors, organized 17 major industry procurement conferences, invited more than a thousand global professional procurement teams to connect on-site, and held more than 160 exciting forum activities. The 27th High Tech Fair is scheduled to be held in Shenzhen from November 14th to 16th, 2025. It is planned to set up professional exhibition areas for national key equipment, technology giant industry chains, artificial intelligence and robots, semiconductors and integrated circuits, low altitude economy and commercial aerospace, provincial and municipal scientific and technological achievements, international scientific and technological achievements, intelligent manufacturing, consumer electronics, etc. The target exhibition area is 400000 square meters. It is planned to invite well-known domestic and foreign technology enterprises to participate and showcase the world's high-tech development trends in all aspects, release the latest achievements of high-tech, and conduct high-tech achievements trading and negotiation worldwide.
