Exhibition Overview

The China Electronic Information Expo, guided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, is held annually in Shenzhen in April. It is the first and world-class electronic information industry event in Asia, showcasing the latest and most comprehensive innovative achievements of China's electronic information industry, leading the industry towards high-quality development and global expansion.

The China (Western) Electronic Information Expo began with the China (Western) Electronic Exhibition held in Chengdu and Xi'an in 2007. It settled in Chengdu in 2013 and was officially renamed the China (Western) Electronic Information Expo in 2020. The 13th China (Western) Electronic Information Expo, with the theme of "Empowering Information and Upgrading Digital Driving Vitality", has grown from an initial exhibition area of 5000 square meters to the current 40000 square meters. It has become a benchmark for the high-quality development of the electronic information industry in western China, as well as a comprehensive platform for new product launches, supply and demand matching, industrial cooperation, industry finance cooperation, competitive competitions, and talent exchanges in the electronic information industry in the western region.

Exhibition Background

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council have issued the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Formation of a New Pattern for the Western Development in the New Era, which has brought tremendous benefits to the Western Development. Electronic information, as the core industry of the digital economy, is affected by factors such as increasing geopolitical uncertainty and profound changes in the international factor comparative advantage pattern. The industrial and supply chains are accelerating their restructuring, and China is ushering in a new round of development opportunities.

In September 2024, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued opinions on implementing the employment priority strategy to promote high-quality and full employment, guiding the orderly transfer of funds, technology, and labor-intensive industries from the east to the central and western regions. Sichuan, as an important strategic backup area, will invest 2.15 trillion yuan in large-scale infrastructure in the next 2-3 years. Sichuan is also accelerating the construction of 5G networks, and will complete the construction of 30000 5G base stations within the year. By the end of the year, it will achieve 5G network coverage in 21 cities (prefectures) and full coverage in the main urban area of Chengdu.

-The market potential is enormous: it radiates a huge market of nearly 400 million people in the western region, and the total economic output of Sichuan and Chongqing has exceeded 7.7 trillion yuan. By 2027, it will break through the 12 trillion yuan mark, and the added value of the digital economy has exceeded 2.5 trillion yuan, both of which have been approved as national digital economy innovation and development pilot zones.

-Strong industrial foundation: The electronic information industry cluster in the Chengdu Chongqing region has a scale of 1.72 trillion yuan, and has built a full chain ecosystem of "chip design wafer manufacturing packaging testing equipment and materials" with the dual engines of "Chongqing manufacturing+Chengdu design".

-Precise policy support: The Chengdu Chongqing region has introduced a series of precise support policies around key electronic information industry chains such as integrated circuits, new displays, and high-end software, and established industrial development guidance funds with a scale of over 100 billion yuan, including the Chengdu Chongqing Dual City Economic Circle Development Fund.

Exhibition Highlights
