Background of the conference

Sichuan is a strategic hinterland for China's development and holds a unique and important position in the national development agenda. The Fifth Plenary Session of the 12th Provincial Party Committee emphasized the need to resolutely shoulder the heavy responsibility of being an economic powerhouse and strive to build a national strategic hinterland core carrying area. Under this strategic guidance, the low altitude economy, as an emerging industry, is not only an important engine for promoting high-quality development, but also a key area for strengthening the construction of national strategic hinterland, enhancing regional economic resilience and security level.

In order to deeply implement the national strategy and rely on Sichuan's strong military industry foundation and unique airspace resource endowment, a special exhibition on the Western Low altitude Economy and Unmanned Aircraft Industry Chain will be held during the 2nd Chengdu Defense Science and Technology Industry Expo in 2026. The theme of this exhibition is "Optimizing the Ecology of Low altitude Industry and Empowering Strategic Backland Construction", focusing on the innovative development and deep integration of low altitude economy and unmanned aerial vehicle industry chain.

As an important experimental zone for the development of low altitude economy, Sichuan has superior airspace conditions, rich application scenarios, and complete industrial supporting facilities. It has a wide range of needs in industrial inspection, emergency rescue, smart logistics, agriculture, forestry and environmental protection and other fields. The purpose of this exhibition is to build a high-level platform that integrates technology exhibition, supply and demand docking, policy interpretation, and achievement transformation. It will gather advanced technologies, equipment, and solutions in the national low altitude economy and unmanned aerial vehicle fields, promote upstream and downstream cooperation in the industrial chain, and help Sichuan accelerate the formation of a low altitude economy industrial cluster, providing important support for the construction of the national strategic hinterland core carrying area.

Sichuan, as the "fourth pole of China's aviation industry" and the "first city of unmanned aerial vehicles" in Chengdu, has the advantage of the entire industry chain. We will create a national level low altitude economy and unmanned aerial vehicle industry event that integrates "achievement exhibition, technology exchange, supply and demand docking, and application scenario landing". Focusing on the vast airspace resources and application market in the western region, we will develop a complete ecological chain from core research and development to commercial applications. Military/industrial grade unmanned aerial vehicles: Key products from leading units in Chengdu will be showcased, such as the "Wing" series of large high-end unmanned aerial vehicles from AVIC (Chengdu). Tengdun Technology's "Double tailed Scorpion" and other fixed wing, large unmanned aerial vehicles. The high-performance industries of other local enterprises are unmanned (inspection, surveying, logistics).

EVTOL (Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing Vehicle): Attracts local and domestic eVTOL complete machine enterprises to showcase prototype or models of passenger and cargo vehicles, reflecting the future prospects of urban air traffic (UAM).

Consumer grade and small to medium-sized unmanned aerial vehicles: showcasing a diverse range of products in Chengdu's well-developed supporting ecosystem.

Core components and key technologies (leveraging the advantages of the electronic information industry)

Control and Navigation: Showcase Chengdu's strong research and development capabilities in aviation electronics (such as CET10th and 29th institutes, China Electronics Technology Aviation Electronics Co., Ltd., and other related technologies), including control computers, navigation algorithms, and integrated navigation systems (North German/GNSS+IN S).

Communication and Data Link: Highlighting anti-interference, beyond line of sight, and high-throughput data link technology, showcasing Chengdu's leading position in China.

Task payloads: electro-optical pods, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), LiDAR, multispectral sensors, emergency delivery devices, etc.

Power system: aviation piston engine, turbine engine, electric power system (motor, electronic control), high energy density battery

Low altitude operations and services (expanding application scenarios)

Low altitude logistics: unmanned logistics distribution solutions and real-time scheduling systems for companies such as Spreadtrum, SF Express, and JD.com in Sichuan.

Industrial Inspection: Application Case of Unmanned Intelligent Inspection for Electricity, Oil and Gas Pipelines, Photovoltaic Power, Water Facilities, etc. (Combined with the Demand of Sichuan Energy Province).

Emergency rescue: Highlighting the unmanned aerial applications in Sichuan under the frequent occurrence of geological disasters, such as disaster investigation, communication relay, material delivery, etc. (linking the Sichuan Provincial Fire Rescue Corps, Disaster Reduction Center and other demand units).

Low altitude infrastructure and air traffic control technology (in response to the needs of Chengdu pilot cities)

Anti Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS): Technical equipment for the entire process of detecting, identifying, disrupting, and disposing of navigation disturbances (with deep technical accumulation from multiple units in Chengdu).

Pilot airspace and services: Showcase the airspace resources and service capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicle pilot bases in Zigong, Pengzhou, Mianyang, and other places in Sichuan.

Testing and Certification: Third party testing and airworthiness certification services.

Finance and Investment: Military civilian integration base, industrial investment base, technology insurance and other services for unmanned aerial vehicle enterprises.

Universities and research institutes: Chengdu Institute of Mechanical Design and Research (611 institutes), University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Sichuan University, Northwestern Polytechnical University Chongqing Research Institute and other units' research achievements in cutting-edge unmanned aerial technology.
