Background of the conference

Sichuan is a strategic hinterland for China's development and holds a unique and important position in the overall national development, especially in the implementation of the Western Development Strategy; And it is proposed to solidly promote high-quality development at a new starting point, strengthen the mission and responsibility of serving the overall national situation, resolutely shoulder the heavy responsibility of being an economic powerhouse, and strive to build the core carrier area of the national strategic hinterland. Building a national strategic hinterland is a strategic choice for China to base itself on the "two overall situations" at home and abroad, coordinate development and security, and lead the construction of a strong country and national rejuvenation with Chinese path to modernization. Building a core bearing area of a national strategic hinterland is an inevitable requirement and major task for Sichuan to recognize its strategic positioning from the overall situation of national development, unswervingly promote high-quality development, lead the modernization of Chinese path to modernization, and earnestly shoulder the new mission of the western development in the new era.

Sichuan has formed a modern industrial system with a certain level and relatively complete categories through the military industry, metallurgy, machinery, electricity, raw coal, electronics, building materials, natural gas, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, nuclear industry, aviation, aerospace, launch bases, railways and other industries and industries formed during the period of the Third Front Construction. The conventional weapons industry base centered on Chongqing, the steel industry base centered on Panzhihua, the Chuannan salt chemical and natural gas chemical bases centered on Zigong and Luzhou, and the electronic, heavy machinery, and power generation equipment manufacturing industrial bases centered on Chengdu, Deyang, Mianyang, and Guangyuan have become one of the three famous power plant complete equipment production bases, one of the four major electronic industry bases, and one of the five major steel bases in China; The mechanical industry has formed a relatively complete industrial system, including heavy mining and engineering machinery manufacturing, machine tool manufacturing, automobiles, instruments and meters. More than 300 enterprises and research institutes focusing on national defense technology have been established, forming an independent and complete system of transportation, energy, basic industry, and national defense industry, thus becoming a relatively complete strategic rear base in China's inland areas. Sichuan has a unique and important strategic position, and building the core carrier area of the national strategic hinterland is a major opportunity and task for Sichuan's modernization construction.

We successfully held the 2nd China (Xi'an) Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Industry Expo and China (Xi'an) Military Science and Technology Industry Expo in Xi'an from July 18-20, 2024. The exhibition attracted more than 920 participating companies and over 30000 professional visitors, and achieved good exhibition results and social impact. In order to better serve the vast number of exhibitors and solicit their opinions, we will hold the 3rd China (Chengdu) Defense Science and Technology Industry Expo and China (Chengdu) Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Industry Expo in Chengdu from April 24-26, 2025. This conference will attract more than 500 enterprises involved in advanced manufacturing, high-end equipment, aerospace technology and equipment, industrial Internet, industrial automation, robots, unmanned aerial vehicles, national defense informatization, military electronics, new materials and other fields to participate in the exhibition, 20000 professional visitors to exchange, and the total scale of the exhibition will reach 30000 square meters. During the exhibition, there will also be an opening ceremony and themed forums, more than 10 themed forums, enterprise technology exchange lectures, and more than 10 city (county) investment promotion events. At the same time, the fourth exhibition will continue to be held in Xi'an in July 2025, ultimately forming an interactive exchange pattern between the "Sichuan Shaanxi" defense technology industry and promoting high-quality development of industries in both regions.
