From 2003 to 2020, it was renamed China International Machinery Industry Exhibition and China International machine tool equipment exhibition with the approval of the former Ministry of foreign trade and economic cooperation and the Ministry of Commerce. Ningbo International machine tool equipment exhibition was born in response to the equipment needs of the manufacturing industry and developed rapidly under the background of the vigorous development of the exhibition industry by Ningbo municipal government. From 2004 to 2006, it was determined by Ningbo municipal government as an exhibition project hosted by Ningbo municipal government. It is a "strong promotion" exhibition of Ningbo Municipal People's government and a "support and guidance Exhibition" of the Ministry of Commerce in 2006 and 2007.
