Against the backdrop of actively exploring sustainable development paths and vigorously promoting green transformation globally, the environmental protection industry has become a key force in safeguarding our planet and achieving harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. The 12th China Shenyang International Environmental Protection Industry Exhibition will grandly kick off on August 29-31, 2025 at the Shenyang International Exhibition Center. Shenyang, as an important engine for the revitalization of Northeast China, has demonstrated solid strength and outstanding achievements in the field of environmental protection. In recent years, Shenyang has achieved remarkable results in improving its ecological environment. In 2024, Shenyang's environmental performance report is very impressive. The number of excellent days throughout the year reached 318, an increase of 16 days year-on-year, with an excellent proportion of 87%. The PM2.5 concentration was 33.6 micrograms per cubic meter, and both indicators jumped to the upper and middle reaches of 168 cities in China. The proportion of heavy pollution days was only 0.5%, successfully achieving the assessment target. Shenyang has taken multiple measures in atmospheric governance, such as "coal pressure, enterprise control, vehicle control, dust suppression, and prohibition of combustion", to achieve a total of 15000 tons of ultra-low emission transformation for large coal-fired boilers, 20000 households in rural areas have completed "coal to clean" transformation, upgraded and renovated VOCs treatment facilities in 150 enterprises, and eliminated 30000 old diesel trucks. The joint response to polluted weather has achieved significant results.

Shenyang has also achieved remarkable results in water environment governance. We have carried out comprehensive management of five key river basins including Puhe and Beisha River, implemented 20 key water pollution control projects, and steadily improved the water environment quality for five consecutive years. By 2024, all 20 national and provincial examination sections will meet the standards, and the proportion of excellent water bodies in national examination sections will be 53.3%, exceeding the assessment target by 20 percentage points. The comprehensive water quality index improvement rate will rank second in the province. The prevention and control of soil pollution at the source has been solidly promoted, and the "safe utilization rate of key construction land" has remained stable at 100%. The solid waste treatment has achieved outstanding results, and the reduction targets for major pollutants have been fully exceeded.
