With the support of the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, Chengdu Ecological Environment Bureau, and Chengdu Expo Bureau, the Asia Flagship Environmental Protection Exhibition "China Environmental Expo" settled in Chengdu in 2019, attracting high-quality industry resources accumulated by environmental expo brands to enter the western market. It has now become a large-scale and high-quality flagship environmental protection event in Chengdu and even the western region.

The 2023 Chengdu International Ecological Environment Protection Expo (IE expo Chengdu) successfully concluded on July 14th at the Western China International Expo City. The exhibition showcased 401 well-known enterprises from 11 countries, showcasing advanced solutions for water, solid waste, air, and soil pollution control in municipal, industrial, and rural areas in a 30000 square meter exhibition space. The three-day exhibition attracted 30000 domestic and foreign professional visitors to visit.

The 2023 China Environmental Industry Summit Forum was also held at the same time as the exhibition. The two major environmental industry events attracted central enterprises, state-owned enterprises, and listed environmental protection companies such as Veolia, Suez, Chuanfa Environment, Qingxin Environment, Villy, Meifute, and China Construction Environment to visit Chengdu, discuss the environmental protection industry together, and help promote the new development of environmental protection in the western region. The simultaneous forums of the exhibition are also exciting and diverse. Over a period of three days, there are 14 sub forums covering the entire industry chain of environmental governance, including village and town water treatment, industrial water treatment, black and odorous water bodies, livestock and poultry waste, VOCs treatment, waste resource utilization and disposal, polluted site restoration, and ecological environment monitoring.
