In 1985, with the approval of the State Council, BCEIA was successfully held by the former State Science and Technology Commission of the people's Republic of China. It is the first large-scale international academic conference and exhibition in the field of analytical testing in China. BCEIA is composed of two parts: Academic Conference and exhibition. It is held every two years and has been successfully held for 18 times. It has played an important role in promoting international scientific and technological exchanges and promoting the development of analytical testing science and instrument manufacturing technology in China.

As a window to display international new technologies, new instruments and new equipment, BCEIA exhibition has been attracting the attention of many experts, scholars and scientific and technological personnel at home and abroad. In recent years, more than 3000 new instruments and new equipment have been displayed in previous exhibitions, including analytical instruments, life science instruments, laboratory equipment, reagents, software and analytical testing services Advanced analysis and testing concepts, products and technologies, solutions and audience face-to-face communication. At the same time of BCEIA 2009, the third national major scientific instrument and equipment development project and local scientific instrument development project exhibition was held. For the first time, terahertz spectrometer, the first quantum diamond single spin spectrometer and other instrument products were exhibited.

As an important part of BCEIA, the symposium has always been facing the world's cutting edge of science and technology, and has various forms, including the Symposium of famous scholars, electronic microscopy and materials science, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, chromatography, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, electroanalytical chemistry, analytical technology in life science, environmental analysis, stoichiometry and reference materials, and label free There are more than 10 academic branch reports, special forums, wall newspapers, and more application technology exchanges.

In order to promote the development and improvement of analytical and testing instrument technology in China, encourage innovation, and promote the industrialization and marketization of analytical and testing instruments with independent intellectual property rights, the conference established the "Beijing analytical and testing academic report and Exhibition instrument Award" (BCEIA Gold Award) to reward the development and production units that have made contributions to the innovative development of analytical and testing instruments in China 。 BCEIA gold awards are selected every two years. From the third BCEIA in 1989 to the 18th BCEIA in 2019, a total of 180 awards have been selected, with 170 winners. It has a strong influence in the field of domestic analytical and testing instruments.
