Shengze International Convention and Exhibition Center project is located in the east of Jianshe Road (Wujiang north south fast trunk line) and the north of Shunhu West Road. The land area is about 30000 square meters, the East-West length is about 150 meters, the North-South length is 200 meters, the plot ratio of the project is about 0.49, and the total investment is 140 million yuan. The plot where the building is located is very regular, with convenient transportation, which is conducive to the holding of various exhibitions.

Cocoon and silk are the source of urban development of Shengze, and also the pride of Shengze as a silk city. The International Convention and Exhibition Center will closely follow this theme, named "cocoon of the city". The reporter saw in the planning plan that Shengze International Convention and Exhibition Center combined the characteristics of the new urban planning, took Shengze's silk culture as the source of the design idea, transformed the cocoon and silk in the traditional handicraft silk production gracefully, combined with the characteristics of the site, put forward the design idea of "gathering Shengze's silk and weaving all the brocade". The architectural surface of the exhibition center is "earth brocade", which is treated together with the landscape like silk covering the earth. The exhibition space of the exhibition center is a cocoon, wrapped in brocade, which becomes the "cocoon of the city". The cocoon breeds the silk culture of Shengze and creates the reputation of the silk capital. It means that now the "cocoon of the city" will nurture more development opportunities and draw a beautiful picture of Shengze not coming.

The building height of "cocoon of the city" is 35m. The front square on the west side, which is composed of waterscape and outdoor exhibition hall, is the main flow line of pedestrian, close to the new urban central axis, and the traffic flows around the urban main road. At the same time, the unloading and entering garage traffic flows are organized nearby on the east side of the exhibition center, so as to achieve the complete diversion of people and vehicles. It can be seen from the effect drawing that the whole exhibition center building is unfolded like silk, extending to the earth, and the building and the earth are integrated together, and the soft texture of silk is depicted through the waterscape and paved landscape. At the same time, the meandering waterscape also symbolizes the characteristics of Shengze's Jiangnan Water Town. Tradition and culture, water and silk are perfectly combined to create a natural scene of endless life. The exhibition center will not only provide a good venue for all kinds of textile exhibitions in Shengze, but also create a leisure landscape with ecological value.
