Hebei Science and Technology Museum (abbreviated to Hebei Science and Technology Museum) is the infrastructure to realize the strategy of "Prospering Hebei through science and education". It is a provincial comprehensive science and Technology Museum under the management of Hebei Science and Technology Association. Hebei Science and Technology Museum, with the implementation of popular science education as its core content, is a place to provide science and technology education for the public, especially for young people. Hebei Science and Technology Museum consists of two parts: the new one and the old one. Located at No. 241, Yuhua East Road, Shijiazhuang City, the old museum was completed in 1987, covering an area of 21 mu, with a building area of 18000 square meters. It is composed of exhibition hall, classroom, video hall, report hall, expert service office and office area. Since its opening in 1987, the museum has always been aiming at popularizing scientific and technological knowledge. Through the organization of permanent exhibitions, temporary exhibitions, itinerant exhibitions, science galleries, science popularization reports, science popularization activities month (week), science and technology training and other activities, it has popularized scientific and technological knowledge to the public and spread scientific knowledge and methods. In December 1999, it was rated as "National Youth Science and technology education base" by the Ministry of science and technology, the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee, the Ministry of education and the China Association for science and technology, and "national popular science education base" by the China Association for science and technology. The new pavilion is located at No. 1, East Street, Shijiazhuang City, less than 1 km away from the old one. It is adjacent to the East Street in the west, across the road from Hebei Provincial Museum and provincial capital cultural square, and Zhongshan East Road in the north, with a building area of 12700 square meters, including 8400 square meters of exhibition hall and 6200 square meters of practical area. The project was established in 1997 and started on August 18, 1998. So far, the civil engineering and equipment installation have been basically completed, and the new library is expected to officially open in March 2006. The new pavilion consists of a permanent exhibition hall, Cosmos theater and auxiliary buildings. The permanent exhibition hall has nine exhibition areas and 310 exhibits. The exhibition area is named as "force and machinery", "electricity and magnetism", "Mathematics", "academician style of Hebei", "universe and aerospace", "sound and light", "application technology" on the ground floor, "life and health" on the ground floor and "picture exhibition" on the underground floor. It covers basic science, technology science, life science and other fields. Cosmos theater is a landmark building of Hebei Science and Technology Museum, which has a unique appearance and beautiful shape. Gss-vi optical planetarium and dome film projection equipment imported from Japan Wuteng optical research institute are installed in the ballroom, with a total of 238 seats. Viewers can watch beautiful artificial simulation of stars and various celestial phenomena, astronomical programs and scientific exploration films.
